Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form an agreement between you and Mendly ("we", "us") and govern your use of the Mendly iOS app and the website at mendlyai.app. By installing, opening, or using Mendly, you accept these Terms. If you don't accept them, please don't use Mendly.

2. Using Mendly

Mendly is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use. You don't need an account. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Mendly subject to these Terms.

You're responsible for the device you use, your data plan, and keeping your iOS up to date.

3. Important disclaimer about repair advice

Mendly uses AI to generate suggestions based on a photo. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional. A repair plan from Mendly is informational only.

• Mendly may misidentify a problem, miss a hidden cause, or recommend an approach that doesn't fit your specific situation.
• Always read the safety notes carefully. If a step feels unsafe, stop.
• For anything involving live electricity, gas, structural elements, pressurised plumbing, asbestos, mould, or any situation that could cause injury or property damage, hire a licensed professional.
• If a repair could affect a warranty, lease, insurance, or local regulations, check with the relevant party before acting.

You assume the full risk of acting on Mendly's suggestions. We are not liable for damage to property, injury, or loss that results from following any plan generated by Mendly. See Section 7.

4. Affiliate links

Some "Buy" buttons in Mendly are affiliate links. If you tap one and complete a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same as if you visited the retailer directly. Read our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

We choose recommended tools and materials based on what fits the repair, not based on commission rates.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to the photos and notes you submit to Mendly. By submitting them, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process them for the sole purpose of generating your repair plan and operating the service. We do not use your content to train any AI model. We do not sell or share your content for advertising. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Things you can't do

You agree not to:

• Use Mendly to plan anything illegal, harmful, or dangerous.
• Submit photos of other people without their consent, or photos of children that are not yours.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app.
• Probe, scan, or attempt to disrupt our backend, our servers, or the third-party services Mendly uses.
• Use Mendly in any way that violates the App Store Terms of Service.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mendly is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, property, or goodwill — arising from or in connection with your use of Mendly. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app will not exceed USD 50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.

8. Changes to the app and these terms

We may update Mendly at any time — adding features, changing how things work, or removing features that didn't pan out. We may also update these Terms. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app. Continued use of Mendly after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

9. Termination

You can stop using Mendly any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate your access to Mendly if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. On termination, the licence in Section 2 ends; sections 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, and 11 survive.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Mendly is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. If you live in the European Union or the UK, you also have the protections of any mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence.
